Emperor Xavid Orius II (Year 638 of the Lathwyn Calendar)

Your name is Xavid Orius II. You are the newly crowned emperor of the great Kingdom of Ekryptia. Your father Xavid Orius I was recently killed in battle with the Sha'Nuub tribes to the south. You are the youngest emperor in almost a century at the age of 15.

The Kingdom of Ekryptia encompasses a vast desert stretching East from the Western Ocean. You reside in the great Temple-Palace at the heart of Aranth'ket, an enormous pyramid structure towering above the city. The city itself has a population of more than 30,000 and lays slightly inland of the Western Ocean, along the Theruul River which flows to it.

One of your top advisors, Banuk Uth'ak, stands at your side as you sit upon the great throne of Ekryptia. Numerous steps below you, a man is kneeling. He is tall and strong, with enormous muscles. His hair and beard are long and wild. He is the leader of the Sha'Nuub tribes to the south, who banded together to fight back against your father's armies coming to claim their land in the name of Ekryptia. Though the final battle took your father the war was won and their ancestral lands are now yours.

The man looks at the floor dejectedly. He awaits you to speak first.

What do you do?

OOC: i need some more information about the Kingdom of Ekryptia, and my position within it. first does the fact that im in a temple-palace mean that im the spiritual head of state as well as the political one? second what was the purpose for my father conquest of the sha'nub people, material wealth, prestige, boredom? third who is Banuk Uth'ak to me, what is any past experiences have i had with him?

You are the emperor, and wield absolute power within the kingdom. Ekryptia itself is a large empire made up of many small villages within a vast desert as well as a handful of large cities. You are indeed the spiritual leader, titled the Speaker of God, and are considered to be closest thing to a god that can be on Earth. You come from a long line of ruling ancestors making up the Orius Dynasty.

Your fathers conquering of the Sha'Nuub was mainly a war for glory, one to expand the borders of Ekryptia and cement his name as one of the greatest emperors of Ekrypria.

Banuk Uth'ak is the most senior of your advisors, and deals directly with the nobles that control the provinces of Ekrypria. He seems mainly to be in charge of collecting the provinces taxes and building the wealth if the kingdom. He spoke very little to you before you became emperor and you don't know much about him. He was nearly inseparable from your father however, and was always with him, save for the times he went onto the battlefield.

Xavid looked upon the mess surrounding him with frustration with more then a touch of despair,  and the one he blamed most for it was far out of reach. The “Divine leader”, Emperor of the ever blessed lands, the rightful ruler of all the sun sees, was in Xavid’s now divine opinion a fool. He was a fool who order a feast whenever he was peckish no mater the years harvest, a fool who spent more time behind the reins of a chariot then on the seat of his throne, a fool who was more concerned about his place in myth then the state of the realm. Then in one final act of ineptitude that fool decide to make one final mess before departing, now Xavid was forced to sit in it.

Speaking of mess lets see if some of it can speak. “So Tribes man, do you have anything to say about our inconvenience and your failure?” Xavid asks.

The man doesn't meet your gaze, he mutters something under his breath in a language you don't understand, and then he spits on the ground. One of the guards standing next to him kicks him in the ribs and he crumples over in pain.

"HOW DARE YOU DISRESPECT YOUR EMPEROR" The guard yells
